Would you consider water to be a drug?

I believe your answers will mostly be based on opinion rather than fact but by any definition of a "drug" would you consider water (H2O) to fit in the same grouping as LSD, salvia divinorum, or even shrooms or possibly be considered a drug on a different level or way.

i guess you could "overdose" on water by drinking too much and drowning in it, ive heard rumors of people doing that, but im not sure how true that is. :?
if you look at death as the ultimate sobriety, which seems to be the case, then yea, water could be looked at as a drug keeping our spirits imprisoned in these bodies. but the word "drug" has a variety of definitions, most of which i dont agree with. i probably wouldnt go so far as to categorize it with entheogens. water keeps us here physically, while entheogens take us as far out as possible spiritually, giving us insight of true freedom.
i guess it doesnt really matter though, all of the recycled city water contains insane amounts of antibiotics, anti-convulsants, mood stabilizers and sex hormones to name a few!
what brought about this idea?

By the pharmacological definition,
Random House wrote:a chemical substance used in the treatment, cure, prevention, or diagnosis of disease or used to otherwise enhance physical or mental well-being.

water is a drug because it enhances and maintains physical well-being.

@PipeGnome: see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_intoxication

@Both: H20 has no effect on the receptors in the brain, except to maintain cell integrity (as it does throughout the entire body).

Well put Ulmdorgr...

Alot of chemicals could be considered drugs when viewing a generic definition, even water or oxygen. But I personally would not call it a drug but a necessity and a chemical needed for life...

But of course if we are talking about tap water, there's a lot of other chemicals in their including ones which are in fact pharmaceutical drugs or non-human hormones.

Yay lets all snort water and get high...

But seriously drinking plenty of water makes one feel better because you remain well hydrated 24/7. Even slight dehydration can cause headaches among other stuff...and don't keep drinking water till you puke it up because it would not be good...

Although THC ends up in the urine, urinating more won't decrease the body's THC concentration. Since THC is stored within fat, the fastest way to remove THC from the body is by exercising!

Seems like a very vague definition, in my "opinion" a drug is administered to alter homeostasis or balance homeostasis for medical reasons... though water IS necessary to maintain that balance... hm. haha.
