Ethnobotany & Chemistry : LIST

Postby DanG » Mon Jan 24, 2011 1:30 am

This is a list of many Plants with their active chemicals and uses.

I don't know how to make a table here but here's a link that i've bookmarked sometime ago.

If you don't like pills as medication then get your remedies from plants!

i believe that all medicines are based on plant chemistry. They just try to change it around a bit so they can patent it and make millions.

For the most part it's true. Some things are synthesized from other synthetics, but I'd say most have a biological origin. Curare (Chondrodendron tomentosum/Strychnos toxifera), aspirin (willows), morphine (Papaver somniferum)...
Anything that I post is fictional and is purely part of my imagination. Do not attempt any of the activities described above.

Agree with SF.
It's all about mental conditioning. I basically grew up learning that if i'm sick then i should pop a pill.
I still have a hard time believing herbal medicines work, yet i grow them...

Must detox my mind and get rid of that way of thinking...

Medicines cost a lot of money and i don't have that much money.
At least when i grow these plants i'll be able to medicate myself for free :D
