CFL light

Hi, guys! I have a question. Since is winter in my country and there is almost no sun I have my Salvia under cfl light. So im wondering how many hours per day should I keep the light on??

If you give a plant an unnatural amount of light (like, 24 hours a day) it will cause it to grow unnaturally (which isn't a bad thing). Just remember that the plant was designed to experience darkness at the same time as you.

Thanks guys! I've set the light for 17 hours per day. And the plants seem to be enyoying this :D

Sounds good. I use 18 hours per day just because my lights are not that powerful only small cfl's

Id love to see pictures of your Salvia's feel free to post a grow log.

I generally keep mine on about 17-18 hours per day. I'm using two 13-watt and one 20-watt bulbs. Costs about nine cents per day and keeps the plants warm in freezing temperatures too. Of course, I've bundled my growing space in some cardboard and a sleeping bag. . . .
