I googled "When do plants grow" because I was curious whether growth occurs in day or night. Lookie what I found:

Very nice find, Jim. I'm gonna be putting all of these links into that one big link page I started. At this point (having not read the whole thing) I can't simplify the knowledge into something useful for others.

Thanks, Ulmy. You're right, there is an awful lot there. The author states he is framing his graduate thesis on, of all things, Cannabis. Yes, he actually got approval to do that. Where were these schools when I was a young student??

Research probably didn't start until the 60's. Nowadays you can be an undergrad and do simple research. I knew a kid back in high school that got a grant from MIT. It's pretty cool what the world will empower our youth to do.
